OceanGate’s mission is to open the world’s unexplored waters to those inspired by deep-sea discovery. As a filmmaker, you play a key role in this effort by capturing powerful images and telling inspiring stories. We offer a number of different means to collaborate with you and your production team.

Underwater Filming Platform
Our primary research submarine, Antipodes, is also a truly unique underwater filming platform, essentially performing as a very large pressure vessel for your cameras, equipment, crew, and talent. Her two 58” acrylic domes give you an expanded field of view into the marine environment, and her extended hull can carry a pilot and crew of four to a depth of 1,000 feet. Our dedicated operations team and skilled pilots can work closely with you to ensure the ultimate success of your next underwater film project.
Global Researcher Network
We maintain strong relationships with a global network of leading marine researchers in a variety of disciplines, including marine biology, oceanography, archeology, and geography. We can leverage this network in support of your film projects, whether as sources of creative ideas, expert consultants, or on-screen talent.
Documentary Film Projects
We work with a number of researchers, foundations, agencies, organizations, and executive producers to create educational underwater content for broadcast, cable, theater, Web, and other media outlets. These projects can provide you with unique opportunities to showcase your talents and create new revenue streams.
OceanGate Foundation
In order to provide you with additional financial support, we are establishing the OceanGate Foundation, a non-profit organization that funds ocean science research, education, outreach, and technology development. The Foundation can be an alternative source of funding for your projects that do not fit our other models. In this way, we hope to provide you with a full solution to your filmmaking needs.
