The mission of the OceanGate Foundation is to expand humanity's understanding of the world's oceans through exploration, education and outreach. They achieve their goals by:

• Organizing exploration expeditions that are scientifically, historically, or environmentally critical
• Developing educational programs for students and teachers
• Fostering a network of local, regional, national and international partners to leverage our collective assets and expertise
• Inspiring a wide range of people to support ocean exploration and the discovery of the deep
• Freely sharing all data collected during exploration expeditions for scientific, research, and educational uses
